Step-by-step house cleaning checklist

I love to make lists for any tasks, so when it comes to cleaning making a checklist feels natural to me. If it doesn’t come naturally it can be a struggle. I have perfected my checklist over time to include everything to do to keep my home clean and organised without feeling overwhelmed.

I recommend that you break your cleaning tasks down to daily, weekly and monthly tasks. This will help keep you on track and you’ll know what to do and when. I have also included cleaning tasks that I do seasonally.

CLEANING SUPPLIES YOU NEED:

Before you begin working through your cleaning checklist, it’s a good idea to get all the supplies you need. Depending on your personal preference of how you like to clean you may want other supplies. Here is a list of the basics to get you started:

Where To Start

Not knowing where to start can be overwhelming. I recommend to clean and organise room by room to be methodical and stay organised. I like to spread the cleaning duties throughout the week. Each room has weekly duties, I like to do a room each day throughout the week to spread out the weekly tasks. This way you will be able to be more efficient and it feels more satisfying to complete a room. You can do the same with the monthly tasks to help stay on top of them.
