1. try doors for hanging storage

When your limited with storage space in your wardrobe, it’s essential to maximise all the space you can. Using your wardrobe doors is a good option. Simply hang a door storage organiser over the wardrobe door and it will maximise your storage space. I recommend storing light weight shoes, but you can store anything you want in it from underwear to rolled t’shirts.

2. use space saving hangers

Do you have a lot of garments you want to hang but not a lot of hanging space? A great way to save space in your wardrobe are space saving hangers. They allow you to hang up to 6 hangers on each hook and will double your hanging space.

A hanging rail is a simple but effective way to add additional hanging storage space. Depending on the depth of your wardrobe you might be able to store it in your wardrobe or alternatively you can keep it next to your wardrobe. Keeping your rail out helps you access everything easier. Pro tip if you have a wardrobe and a hanging rail, change out what your going to wear each week and hang it on the rail, this way it will be easy to grab when your getting dressed every day.

Some items of clothing take up more space than other. When deciding what goes where, think about how you can maximise your hanging space. Try folding jeans and jumpers as these take up the most room. If like me you don’t have a lot of folding space either, try using storage draws or bins to store your folded items.

While I don’t have a lot of drawer space, I recommend making the most of the space you have. Drawer inserts have been a real game changer for me. They are such a nice way to keep your underwear or clothes tidy and separated.

Looking for additional hanging space, a mounted wall clothing rack might be the solution you need. The best part about using these is you can place them in your bedroom in spaces you might not be able to fit a wardrobe.

If you’re looking for somewhere to store your handbags and outerwear, you can place decorative wall hooks to the side of your wardrobe or behind your bedroom door. This is a good way to save space inside your wardrobe and use your handbag as decorative items.
