Swap out cushions and throws
One of the simplest ways to add some autumn colours and textures into your living room, is to swap out your sofa cushions. Opting for orange and brown hues always makes your room feel more homely. If you’re wanting to go all out this Autumn you could choose cushions with autumn prints such as pumpkins or woodland themed.

Also sticking with the living room, adding a couple of throw’s in rich brown or orange brings warmth and texture. You don’t have to keep these just in the living room, consider adding one to the end of your bed to create rustic charm.
Add autumnal folliage
One of my favourite ways to decorate for autumn is to switch out my floral decorations. Swap bright flowers that you display for summer for muted rustic tones. Why not add a couple of pumpkin decorations around your home to add intrigue and depth.

Change up your front door mat
I think this may be one of the simplest ways to incorporate fall into your home. Changing up your doormat is easy and affordable, plus there are some really cute ones to choose from. From slogans to all out autumn leaves prints there is something for every taste.

Hang an autumn wreath
Make your home warm and welcoming by hanging a fall wreath on your front door. Your guests will love how inviting this makes them feel. When choosing a wreath for autumn, think about the style of your home and opt for one that co-ordinates with that. is it modern, classic or contemporary?
Also think of the size of the wreath and how it will look on your door. You’ll want it big enough to make a statement but not too big that you don’t have any space either side. To hang your wreath properly, you can either use a door hanger or you could choose to hang it with a ribbon.

Add fall artwork
Artwork is something that’s often overlooked when it comes to changing pieces for the seasons. I love finding pieces that capture the essence of fall. Look for autumn leaves, woodland scenes, brown and orange tones. Hanging artwork can really make a huge difference when you’re creating a warm and inviting ambiance.
When it comes to choosing art, you don’t need to spend a fortune, scour charity shops, they can sometimes have some unique pieces. Alternatively, etsy has some great prints that are downloadable you will just need to put it in a frame.
Change bedding
Don’t forget about your bedroom when you’re decorating for autumn, switching your duvet sets for autumnal colours is a simple way to give your bedroom a refresh. I have picked out some of my favourites to share with you, that are so pretty.
Add wooden acents
Placing wooden accents around your home make it feel more homely. Choose pieces that are decorative and functional. Another way to add texture is to add wicker baskets throughout your home. They add depth and you can store items such as throws and blankets in them.
Decorate with candles

Candles not only look pretty but the also bring autumnal scents into your home. Think cinnamon, pumpkin spice lattes and spiced vanilla. There are so many to choose from that add a warm ambience to your home. I recommend if you have a smaller room, don’t choose anything too overpowering but if you have a larger room then you might want a heavier fragrance. With so many options, choose one that you enjoy the aroma of.
